I just saw your comment at Freckled Nest. If that truly is something you want to do before you die, you need to do it. Do it now. My dad committed suicide July last year and I couldn't remember the last time I had hugged him and told him that I truly appreciated him... But this isn't about me, it's about you! Take the chance and make the move, regardless of whether you're a lovey dovey family or not. I'm sure he'll appreciate it :)
