hedge apple hunting

I spent Saturday morning hanging out with my favorites.
We went hedge apple hunting and drank chocolate milk.
I came out on the porch and found Annie sharing her milk with her brother.
Isn't this the cutest thing ever?

cuter than Christmas.

they're only 14 months apart and inseparable.

then we went on the search of  hedge apples
(they are supposed to keep spiders out of your house in the winter)

and I love this moment that annie and my mom were having in the kitchen.
she must get all of her fashion sense from me: pj pants and cowboy boots

how was your holiday/weekend?

Digi scrap is my new crack

what the hell is digital scrapbooking?
yeah that's what I said in August.
Now I'm addicted.
Its fun, and crafty, minus the glue and glitter stuck to your fingers.
my ocd loves it.

random whimsy

today is Veterans Day.
I am Proud of both of my Grandpa's for fighting in WWII.

Yesterday was my Mammie's 80th birthday.
I sent her 29 red roses and gerber daisies.
1 for every year of MY life.
1 for every year I have had the world's greatest Grandma.
She still doesn't think of herself as an "old person".
I hope I'm like that in 50 or 60 years.

that was my Dad's Dad's Ford decorated for the 4th of July parade
on our town square in 1966. They drove it in the parade for the K. of P. Lodge (Knights of Pythias). My Dad recounted the whole day to me last night on the phone. He remembers everything, even that he had a toothache that day. He was 14. His Dad died 6 short years later in 1972. I'm glad he has this vivid memory of a happy day spent with his dad.

in the red {& tweed}

I noticed a trend on my tumblr last night.
what is it about the leaves changing that makes me want to wear reds and browns?

{gnomes!}
Chris Craymer is a photo genius. I imagine his photo shoots are a party in themselves.

 I want her glasses.

Madewell's "looks we love" are always spot on.

bounce houses, tutus, and koolaid smiles

this weekend I went home and had some family time. I miss home, I wish I could be there all the time. My cousins celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows followed by a party complete with cornhole, a bounce house, a camo cake and amazing food cooked by my momma.

I'm not a fan of fondant but this cake was surprisingly delicious.

how cute is Annie in her tutu?
me, mammie, logan, and annie
Saturday, November 5th would have been my Pappy's birthday so we all tried to cheer my Mammie up.
Her 80th birthday is this Thursday. Any cute birthday ideas?
I am thinking 80 red flowers and a list of "80 reasons you're the best Mammie ever".

I wish glasses would have been this cool in 1991

back in 2nd grade, I had to get glasses.
they were not awesome.
they were blue and supposed to be cute, but not so cute with my red hair.
I used to get in fights on the playground hoping my glasses would get broken in the scuffle.
I got over it. I love my glasses now

This season there are glasses in every catalog, lookbook, fall campaign.
