Feb., I love you but I can't spell you

I am 29. so I've been around for 29 February's . And I still can't spell it without spellcheck or checking my phone. Probably 10 times a day. And I'm a good speller. The nuns taught us all of the cool little tricks, and we had spelling bee practice after school in junior high like it was a sport. So where's the cool little mnemonic device so I can spell February? It's officially Feb. on everything I hand write.
But I do love Feb. Pink sprinkle cookies, strawberry cake, Red Velvet everything. I especially love the target clearance section on Feb 15th. I have enough heart shaped ice cube trays to fill a small cooler.

I made this fun little book for Valentines Day using a Smash Book pen, washi tape, heart stickers, and my  Hipstamatic prints (4x4 photos I put in a 4x6 template, uploaded to walgreens, printed, and cut down. took FORever).

the little moments

{thanks Sydney for the Feist lyrics}

he also got a unicorn pinata because I'm the best girlfriend ever.

 how was your Valentine's Day? Was it awesome? Lovey dovey? or Did you wear black and drink with your friends (I miss college).

random whimsy

today is Veterans Day.
I am Proud of both of my Grandpa's for fighting in WWII.

Yesterday was my Mammie's 80th birthday.
I sent her 29 red roses and gerber daisies.
1 for every year of MY life.
1 for every year I have had the world's greatest Grandma.
She still doesn't think of herself as an "old person".
I hope I'm like that in 50 or 60 years.

that was my Dad's Dad's Ford decorated for the 4th of July parade
on our town square in 1966. They drove it in the parade for the K. of P. Lodge (Knights of Pythias). My Dad recounted the whole day to me last night on the phone. He remembers everything, even that he had a toothache that day. He was 14. His Dad died 6 short years later in 1972. I'm glad he has this vivid memory of a happy day spent with his dad.
