better than jello shots

Punch Jelly
1. Start with a punch recipe. Try Empire City PunchLa Cubanita’s Rum PunchPilgrim Punch, or Regents Punch on for size. (Note: A noncitrusy kind works best.)
2. For every pint of the punch the original recipe makes, omit 1 cup of water or nonalcoholic liquid, then assemble the punch base as directed, increasing sugar to taste (this helps the jelly set).
3. Bring however many cups of water or liquid you’ve omitted to a boil. For every cup, you need one ¼-ounce packet of gelatin.
4. Bloom each packet in 2 ounces of cold water; add hot liquid; stir to activate.
5. Add gelatin mixture to the punch base.
6. Pour into a Jell-O mold and refrigerate.
Punch: the Delights (and Dangers) of the Flowing Bowlavailable online at, $24. For more jellied punch that’s the jam, try Wondrich’s Jellied Bols Genever Punch

blue valentine

this movie comes out this week
and I really want to see it

Ryan Gosling
Michelle Williams

have you seen the trailer?
ryan sings.
and if i broke your heart last night,
it’s because i love you most of all.

don't you love this dress?

"Blue Valentine is the story of love found and love lost told in past and present moments in time. Flooded with romantic memories of their courtship, Dean and Cindy use one night to try and save their failing marriage. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams star in this honest portrait of a relationship on the rocks."

sounds intense and emotional

and her wardrobe is cute

the stuff i love

I live for Christmas
I get it from my Mammie
she puts up 10 plus Christmas trees.
I only have 2 this year.
and they are both artificial thanks to my Christmas tree {mold}allergy.

yup, I've been killing Christmas since 1982. {in the words of my sister}

my vintage tree
all the ornaments are from my Mammie and Mam-maw

and my fun size tree
with wax paper stars and  rag garland.

do you have your decorations up yet?
I am still in new house mode and I am petrified of putting holes in the walls
or making any other hasty decor decisions so we don't have alot of stuff up this year.
