wedding dress shopping

I realized a few things when I went wedding gown shopping with my Mom and Grandma this past Sunday.
1. you probably won't like the 1st dress you put on. That only happens on tv and/or to people who are crazy euphorically blinded by love and not ocd like me.
2. those dresses are heavy! who in the hell wants to wear a 50 lb dress all day? Does your body hurt the next day? Is that how pregnant people feel?
3. My dream dress only exists on etsy and the bhldn website.
4. I am strangely comfortable letting random salesladies see me in my underwear
5. no matter how much you pin a size 12 (or 20) it isn't going to look or fit like a 2. Imagination is key.
6. I look horrendous in anything  mermaid-ish or fishtail like. And that makes me sad because Ariel was always my favorite.

I put a deposit down on a gown but it's a champagne / gold color. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the notion of not wearing white or ivory. Thoughts?
{not my dress of course}

he put a ring on it

so on June 15th my boyf realized he was the luckiest guy ever and asked me to marry him. (aka he sent me on a scavenger hunt all over God's green earth, and then rewarded me with a diamond).

the question
 boone's farm wine. at least it wasn't in a Dixie cup.
the answer.
then he surprised me with a mini engagement party at the river. My family even came.
It was perfect.

{I have fat farmer fingers}

love. him.

warning: expect mass wedding planning posts.

wedding whims part 1

I designed and set up a few tables for a wedding show last weekend.
This one was my favorite. My "campy" picnic table.
I used black and white gingham napkins, mismatched china, a burlap table runner, cream linens trimmed with lace, postcards from the forties, and pretty green apples as the favors. The centerpiece consisted of old pop bottles, vintage horse books, and simple flowers. Let me know what you think.

this postcard says Lover's Lane. How perfectly perfect?!

silverware was tucked into bob evans sausage bags

loving the horseshoes

swinging bridge in the Smokey Mtns {I've been there}

washi tape flags

the glass bottles of coke were a last minute addition.

better late than never

some more photos I took for my cousin Tony's "day after" session.
all of these were taken on my parents farm.
Dad told me he was thinking about repainting the white barn.
I made him promise to leave one side cracked and peeling because it makes such a pretty backdrop.

we streamered a tree.
(note to self: this does not make my dad a happy man)

I love these fringe banners.

mini cheesecakes and a cupcake tree

My mom volunteered me to do another wedding "cake" this weekend.
It might be my favorite dessert table so far.
The bride wanted a mini cheesecake tower,
two kinds of cupcakes {red velvet and swiss chocolate}
and a cake.

I made Mini Cheesecakes in 3 flavors.
Pumpkin. Devils Food. Cherry.

the bride had the cutest side bustle on her dress
