my favorite things about June 

Its been just as fabulous as May so far.

It's been crazy hot, and we need rain like no other. 

when I say we, I mean my dad, and his fields of corn 

June makes me wish I was a teacher so I could have summer vacations again. I would fill my days with picnics, ice cream sandwiches, and naps in the sunshine.

sunday dinner

I think that Sunday dinners with the family are perfect way to start your week. (yes I think Sunday in the 1st day of the week, is that weird?). Spending the day with my family makes Monday seem less daunting. My sister was home from Arizona over the weekend and my mom made baked steak {and mashed potatoes, noodles, cole slaw, green beans} Then my dad, who loathes getting his picture taken, decided he wanted a family photo. Watch out, hell might freeze over later this week...

My brother looks pumped, huh? check out his chops. 

I got picked to be on Amy Jaz's creative team this weekend, (super excited about that!)

and I am loving her new kit Candycane Lane. That red and blue chevron print was an instant favorite.

so that was my Sunday;  sitting around reading the Weird Ohio book with my Dad and Uncle Dave and admiring my Mom's tree I put up last weekend, snacking on Snickers pie my Aunt Crystal brought over, and watching my sister watch 3 football games at once (tv, laptop, kindle). 

the ice skating Claus's always get front and center branch reservations.

weekend adventures: little bit of farm

Sometimes life moves so fast we forget to stop and breathe and appreciate the natural beauty around us.

This weekend I remembered how amazingly gorgeous my mom and dads farm is. I am a lucky girl.

hedge apple hunting

I spent Saturday morning hanging out with my favorites.

We went hedge apple hunting and drank chocolate milk.

I came out on the porch and found Annie sharing her milk with her brother.

Isn't this the cutest thing ever?

cuter than Christmas.

they're only 14 months apart and inseparable.

then we went on the search of  hedge apples 

(they are supposed to keep spiders out of your house in the winter)

and I love this moment that annie and my mom were having in the kitchen.

she must get all of her fashion sense from me: pj pants and cowboy boots

pirate's booty

I made a pirate ship cake this weekend for a friend's dad's surprise 50th birthday party

(pirate themed evidently)

have you tried the new vanilla cupcake goldfish?? so good.

the little blue haired mermaid hitching a ride was my favorite part.

how cute would these have been?

and that eye patch was the extent of my pirate costume

I made up for it by drinking a pirate size amount of rum punch.

and we had an earthquake yesterday?

I thought I was just dizzy.

or still feeling the rum.

I had a few weekend epiphanies  

american eagle is either making their sizes bigger or I am shrinking

vinegar is magic
(as a cleaning solution NOT on my french fries)

you can find really cute baby blankets at goodwill

the balloons at the car dealerships make me happy

and i'm jealous of my sister being able to attend awesome Navajo Rug Auctions in Arizona
